A Call To Shine.
When we became Born Again, we became enrolled in the company of men and women with answer for the world’s dilemma. Armed and sent into a tasteless and dark world with the mandate to be Salt and Light.
Over and again, Our Lord and Owner reminds us that, “No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candle stick, that they which enter in may see the light” Luke 8:16.
From the scripture above we can deduce that: every man who lights up a candle has something in mind. After the candle is lit, he finds a place where the light (from the candle) is mostly needed and puts the candle on vantage
position for one purpose – to SHINE.
Jesus lights us up and calls us “the Light of the world” (Matthew 5:14).He has chosen to place us in our various geographic locations on the lamp-stands of our vocations, so we can shine for Him. A teacher is first a missionary before his second job –teaching. The job presents a platform for service to his King – Jesus.
Our Master was not making a suggestion when He called us Light. Is he not the One that lit us up (John 1:4)? He has strategically positioned us in our various corners to just shine for Him. Of John the Baptist, it was said, “he was a burning and shining light…” (John 5:35). As we fellowship with Him in prayers and the Word, enough heat is generated to keep the fire burning – making the shine so natural.
Our world will see the Light!
Your office is your shining post for Our King.
He is Lord over us and our all.
Luke 24:46,47 “…Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem”
Our workers’ meeting played host to Minister Offor of Chapel of Redemption, University of Calabar. It was a time of encouragement and impartation. The brethren also got loads of materials for those in need in their various fields.
Visits from brethren from afar have a strong way of strengthening the hands of the missionaries. It harmonizes and builds on teachings they have received before. It also helps them know that they are not alone in this race; that they have ‘relatives’ outside their village remains an encouragement to them. The brethren out of the depth of their hearts blessed our guest.
